Under Account Security, locate Google Authenticator and click Set Up.
Step 2: Enable Google Authenticator

Tap the “+” icon, then select “Scan a QR code.”
If you haven’t installed the app yet, download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Use the app to scan the QR code displayed on the HashWhale website.
Enter the 6-digit code generated by the Google Authenticator app into the field provided.
Click “Submit” to complete the setup.
Important: Be sure to safely back up your recovery key. This is the only way to restore your account access if you lose or change your device.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What should I do if I lose access to my Google Authenticator app?
Use your recovery key to restore verification on a new device.
If you do not have the recovery key, please contact HashWhale Support or email support@hashwhale.io for assistance.
2. Can I disable Google Authenticator after enabling it?
Yes, but disabling 2FA is strongly discouraged, as it will lower your account security.
3. Which actions require Google Authenticator verification?
Logging in to your account
Withdrawing crypto assets
Changing passwords or other security settings
4. Can I use another authentication app instead of Google Authenticator?
Yes. Any app supporting TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) can be used, but we recommend using a trusted authentication app for security reasons.
5. What if the QR code cannot be scanned?
You can manually enter the backup key into your authenticator app instead of scanning the QR code.
