This guide explains how to delete your HashWhale account and the data associated with it — both the in-app steps and how to request deletion if you can no longer access the app.
Before you begin
⚠️ Account deletion is irreversible. All data in your account will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered, so please confirm before proceeding.
First withdraw or transfer out all assets in your account. Assets cannot be recovered after the account is deleted.
Cancel or wait for all in-progress orders to complete. Any unfinished orders will be cancelled when the account is deleted.
Review and remove your saved withdrawal/transfer addresses so funds aren't later sent to a closed account.
Step 1: Delete your account in the app
Open the HashWhale app, go to the Profile page, tap your account info at the top to open Account, then tap Security Center.
At the bottom of the Security Center page, tap Delete Account.
-
Read the notice and confirm the following effects:
All data and information linked to the account will be deleted and cannot be recovered;
Your registered email, phone number, and Google Authenticator (2FA) binding will be removed;
All unfinished orders will be cancelled, and the email or phone number used to register this account cannot be used to register a new account.
Tick the agreement checkbox and tap the Delete Account button.
Confirm in the dialog that appears (“Account deletion is irreversible. Are you certain you wish to proceed?”).
On success you'll see “Account cancellation successful!” and your account is deleted.
Step 2 (alternative): Request deletion if you can't access the app
If you've uninstalled the app, can't sign in, or otherwise can't complete the steps in-app, you can request deletion of your account and associated data by email:
From the email address registered to your account, send an email to support@hashwhale.io.
Use the subject line “Account Deletion Request”.
In the body, provide your registered email or phone number so we can verify your identity.
Our support team will process your request after verifying your identity.
What data is deleted or retained
Deleted (permanently and unrecoverable):
Your account profile, login credentials (email, phone number, password), two-factor authentication (2FA) binding, saved withdrawal/transfer addresses, in-app preferences, and all other data linked to the account.
Retained:
To comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations (such as anti-money-laundering / counter-terrorist-financing, tax, and financial record-keeping requirements), certain records — such as identity verification (KYC) documents and transaction history — are retained for the period required by law, up to 5 years after account deletion (or longer where required by applicable law), after which they are securely deleted.
